Design & Innovation Award 2026 For gravel fans who refuse to choose between race-ready agility and all-day comfort, the new FOCUS ATLAS 8.9 hits the sweet spot. FOCUS stay true to the bike’s adventure DNA but have given it a performance boost: the carbon frame looks sleeker, and the flat-fronted fork offer clearance for tyres up to 53 mm. At the same time, the ATLAS remains – with its integrated Prep-Pocket storage, multiple mounting points and the familiar rack system for both the front and rear. Out on the trail, it impresses with snappy acceleration, plenty of stability and predictable handling. The compliant carbon seatpost and ergonomic cockpit take the edge off rough terrain, while the deep-section carbon wheels give the bike a surprisingly punchy and efficient feel.
